Guidelines and Instructions 
for the course Code 3600

(Teaching Practice)

Dear Student!

You are welcome in the semester Spring 2011. As you are enrolled in course code 3600 of M.A and M.Ed Special Education is a face to face component of teacher training.

The breakup of the course is as follows:

Course Code 3600, (3 Credit Hours)           

a) 3 Days Workshop

(For lesson planning)

b) Teaching Practice

10 Observations

04 Weeks Teaching Practice (40 lessons)

10 IEPs

c) 2 Final Lessons

Note: The details of course code 3600 is provided in the Teacher Training Manual (revised edition) of the Department of Special Education (Already posted at your postal addresses). 

Please follow the dates of different activities of CC: 3600. No relaxation will be given to any student if he/she does not follow these dates.

• The Workshop for Course Code 3600 is scheduled from 26-28 July 2011 for course code 3600.
• Teaching Practice is scheduled from 1^st September to 30^th September 2011 for all the students. The students will complete their 10 observations, 40 lessons and 10 IEPs within these dates.
• The student must send Consent Form (provided in the Teaching Practice Manual) duly signed by the headmaster/headmistress/principal/incharge of the school where he/she will do the teaching practice. Make it sure to provide the exact location/address of the school with the name of the Headmaster/Headmistress/Principal/Incharge and phone number so that the department can contact you during your teaching practice.
• If any student found irregular or guilty of providing fake information to the department, the department will take serious action against him/her. (The student can be black listed or expelled from the semester or any other action deemed fit).
• The students are required to take 10 observations during the teaching practice being conducted by senior/experience teachers. These observations will help to improve your teaching. Hopefully after the 10 observations week you will be able to deliver your 40 lessons in an effective way. Try to demonstrate maximum 2 lessons in a day and write down all the lessons in a register.
• The students are required to demonstrate lessons in all classes and in all subjects in the schools where he/she will conduct the teaching practice.
• Teaching Practice Register (40 Lessons); a file containing 10 Observations and 10 IEPs must be received in the office of the course coordinator on or before 05^th October 2011. The address of coordinator is mentioned below and in Teaching Practice Manual.
• The old students of Course Code 675 who didn’t submit their project work, 10 IEPs, 10 Observations and 40 Lessons Register are advised to submit all these documents on or before 05^th October 2011  to Mrs. Shaista Majid. She will approve the project topics for the old students.
• No Register, Observation File, Project Work, IEP and Case studies will be accepted after 05^th October 2011 (By Hand or by Post) if you are posting these documents then make it sure that your posted documents should be received on or before 05^th October 2011. The department will not be responsible for any delay in receiving your posted documents.
• The tentative schedule for the evaluation of final lessons is 17^th October to 31^st October 2011; you can confirm the schedule of final lessons from the concerned regional office. It is also recommended that the student check the http://aiou-islamabad.blogspot.com website, have contacts to the regional office and friends for up-dates about the final lessons.
