PH.D ELIGIBILITY

Ph.D. Urdu (M.Phil based)
Prospectus	Rs. 300/-
Eligibility:	· M.Phil Urdu or equivalent from any HEC recognized university in first division (in Annual System) or CGPA (3.0 out of 4) in semester system. · GAT-subject arranged by NTS with 60% marks. · Interview by the Ph.D. admission committee.
Admission Procedure:	The candidates are required to send original admission form complete in all respects to: Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir Chairman Department of Urdu Block No. 8, Allama Iqbal Open University, H-8, Islamabad.
Admission Confirmation:	The selected candidates will be informed by the admission department to deposit the admission fee.
Duration:	Minimum: Three years. Maximum: Five years.
Total Credits:	18 credit hours of course work as required by HEC
Medium of Instructions:	The medium of instruction and examinations is Urdu.
Methods of Instructions:	Assignments, Fact to face teaching in shape of workshop.
Research Work:	The thesis of Ph.D. must be a distinct contribution to knowledge and must offer evidence to originality, shown either by the discovery of new facts or by the exercise of independent critical judgment.
Evaluation:	In the light of AIOU rules PhD thesis is necessary to be sent for evaluation to three foreign experts from technological advanced countries.
Viva Voce:	The pre-requisites of viva voce are unconditional approval of research work from at least two foreign experts and publication/acceptance of one research paper in HEC recognized research journal.
