Eligibility:	·         2nd Class Master’s Degree in Arabic or equivalent from any recognized Institution. However, preference is given to those candidates who have passed all degree with first division. ·         A Significant weightage is given to the research thesis written for M.A Arabic. ·         Expertise in Arabic language and Hifz-e-Quraan is also considered extrea qualification. ·         Intermediate and above teaching experience in any recognized college/institutions is also given due weightage in admission criteria. ·         The graduates of HEC’s approved Wafaq with the degree of Al Shahdat Al Almia can also apply for admission but they must have B.A from any recognized university & Intermediate and SSC from any recognized Secondary and Intermediate Board. ·         GRE test of short listed candidates arranged by NTS/AIOU. ·         Test/Interview by the Arabic Department.
Admission Procedure:	The candidates are required to send original admission form complete in all respects to: Abdul Majeed Baghdadi Program Coordinator Department of Arabic Allama Iqbal Open University, H-8, Islamabad
Admission Confirmation:	The selected candidates will be informed by the admission department to deposit the admission fee.
Duration:	Course Work:                      Two Semester Research work/Thesis:        Two Semester
Total Credits:	As per AIOU/HEC rules & Regulations
Medium of Instructions:	Urdu/English/Arabic.
Methods of Instructions:	Assignments, Fact to face teaching in shape of workshop.
Research Work:	i)        The research work must be distinct contribution to knowledge and afford evidence to originality, shown either by the discovery of new facts or by the exercise of independent critical judgment. ii)       The student will be required to observe the guidelines regarding format, referencing, paper and other related matters as approved hrs in AIOU rules & regulation.
Evaluation:	As per recent amendments of AIOU rules and regulations. In the light of HEC directives Ph.D. thesis is necessary to be sent for evaluation to three foreign experts from technological advanced countries.
Viva Voce:	The pre-requisites of viva voce are unconditional approval of research work from at least two foreign experts and publication/acceptance of one research paper in HEC recognized research journal.
